La Federación Internacional de Escuelas y Facultades de Odontología (F.I.E.F.O.), en el trascurso del 54 Congreso de la Sociedad Española de Prótesis y Estética dental, celebrado los días 9 a 11 de octubre del presente año, entregó al Dr. Gil una escultura “en reconocimiento a su meritoria trayectoria en apoyo de la difusión internacional del conocimiento científico de la odontología”.
The International Federation of Dental Schools and Faculties (FIEFO), during the 54th Congress of the Spanish Society of Dental Prosthetics and Aesthetics, held from October 9 to 11 of this year, presented Dr. Gil with a sculpture «in recognition of his meritorious career in supporting the international dissemination of scientific knowledge in dentistry.»
La entrega la hizo personalmente el presidente de la Federación Internacional, el Guatemalteco Dr. Estuardo Mata, decano de la Universidad Francisco Macorís, acompañado del Dr. Giner Tarrida, presidente de la Conferencia de Decanos de España, decano de la Universidad Internacional de Cataluña y miembro de la junta directiva de FIEFO, y del Dr. Gutiérrez de Guzmán editor de la revista Odontólogos de hoy y responsable de comunicación de FIEFO, en presencia del Dr. Guillermo Pradíes presidente de SEPES
The award ceremony was personally presented by the president of the International Federation, Guatemalan Dr. Estuardo Mata, dean of Francisco Macorís University, accompanied by Dr. Giner Tradia, president of the Conference of Deans of Spain, dean of the International University of Catalonia, and member of the FIEFO board of directors, and Dr. Gutiérrez de Guzmán, editor of the magazine Odontólogos de hoy and head of communications for FIEFO, in the presence of Dr. Guillermo Pradíes, president of SEPES.
Para el Dr. Gil Lozano después de su familia , tanto su esposa como sus dos hijos son dentistas, su segunda pasión podría decirse que es la formación continuada, a la que ha dedicado cientos de horas.

Jaime Gil es Catedrático de Estomatología de la Universidad del País Vasco, ha sido pionero en el concepto en España de consulta multidisplicinar, importado de Estados Unidos como él mismo nos cuenta.
Jaime Gil is Professor of Stomatology at the University of the Basque Country and has pioneered the concept of multidisciplinary consultation in Spain, imported from the United States, as he himself tells us.
Cursó los estudios de Estomatología en la Universidad Complutense de Madrid y posteriormente realizó estudios de posgrado en la Universidad del Sur de California. En 1982 inició en España la USC extensión Europe, con una espectacular asistencia a los cursos que realizaban, trayendo a España a las primeras figuras de Estados Unidos, había comenzado una campaña por la formación continuada de la que ya no podría parar.
He studied Dentistry at the Complutense University of Madrid and later completed postgraduate studies at the University of Southern California. In 1982, he launched the USC European Extension in Spain, achieving spectacular attendance at the courses offered. Bringing leading figures from the United States to Spain, he had begun a campaign for continuing education that would no longer cease.

He has held numerous positions, always with great dedication and demonstrated effectiveness. He has served as President of the Spanish Society of Prosthetic Dentistry, President of the European Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, President of the International College of Prosthodontics, President of the International College of Dentists (ICD) Spain, and President of the International Federation of Esthetic Dentistry, among others
En 2019 fue reconocido por el Ayuntamiento de Bilbao con el Título de “Ilustre de Bilbao”.
In 2019, he was recognized by the Bilbao City Council with the title of «Illustrious of Bilbao.»
En esta ocasión le ha correspondido la presidencia del Comité Organizador del 54 Congreso SEPES, actividad que ha compartido con su hijo Alfonso Gil López- Areal que ha sido presidente de la Comisión Científica del Congreso.
On this occasion, he served as president of the Organizing Committee of the 54th SEPES Congress, an activity he shared with his son, Alfonso Gil López-Areal, who served as president of the congress’ Scientific Committee.
